Robson Square Canopy Lights

Robson Square Canopy Lights is an exploration of catenary forms and light. Catenary modelling was carried out and iterated upon algorithmically considering constraints such as maximum clearance under the installation and overall project weight. Metrics from the modelling were used to assist with engineering tasks carried out by RCJ engineering. Coordination of this effort was lead by Alyssa with the city signing off on our structural approach and detailing. Animation studies were carried out in Twinmotion utilizing video materials that follow the UV mapping of the lighting assembly to show clients as part of design development. The intent is to install the project late 2022.
