AER Skin Lab Ceiling Installation

AER Skin Lab project was a parametric ceiling installation composed of 180 strips of laser cut plastic. The concept for the space as directed by Leckie Studio was to evoke a cave like feeling thus the installation aesthetically references stalactites. Layers of noise algorithms were used to generate the forms. The computational design scope included modelling and design development. Cut file automation was carried out to minimize waste and streamline the digital fabrication process. Alyssa was responsible for computational design development scope on the project in addition to supervising and coordinating the installation and fabrication of the elements.
